Random Impulse Refix Chase Status, SHM ‘Let you go’ ‘One’
Just when we thought Impulse couldn’t up the level he was bringing out of his weekly refixes….He’s just totally annihilated his most recent one!
His Guitar replaces the dubstep production of Chase & Status’ ‘Let You Go’, mixing in like a DJ to refix Swedish House Mafia’s ‘One’, that also got remixed by Doom Man recently!
There is definitely a gap in the market for Random Impulse!

BassWeight [Trailer] The Birth & Growth of ‘Dubstep’ ft Benga, Plastician etc
BASSWEIGHT is a feature length documentary that offers an unparalleled insight into the subterranean world of Dubstep.
Charting the genre’s growth from obscure origins in south London to global recognition today, the film features in-depth interviews with many of the DJ’s, producers and promoters who have been instrumental in Dubstep’s ongoing evolution.
Skream, Benga, Kode9 and Mary Anne Hobbs are just some of the key players who have contributed, reflecting on the movement they’ve helped shape; a movement that has come to define the importance of underground music in the 21st Century.
This highly stylised film travels from Dubstep’s birthplace in Croydon to Europe, Brazil and Japan, demonstrating just how huge an impact this initially indigenous scene has made at an international level.
Directed and produced by The SRK (Soka Afrika, Graffiti Asia, Rackgaki, Scratching the Surface: Japan), BASSWEIGHT documents this most clandestine of movements on its own terms and in its own voice.
Sabotage organising this project along with a collective of fellow rappers (namely: Raxstar, Da Poe, Sam Khan, Rkz, Swami Baracus, Faze, Kaution & Arjun), came together to feature on the charity single to raise funds for the Pakistan Floods disaster.
This is a wicked tune in its own right. Beat is sick (produced by Zaheer), and all the rappers come through with their own expressive and thoughtful set of rhymes.
The purpose of this tune is more valued than ever, where the horrific tragedy in Pakistan which has affected several millions of people, has been greeted with a lukewarm response compared to many other disasters that have affected humanity in recent years, in my opinion. You can spend all the time debating points about the worth of donations, the resonance of the crisis with the western world, corruption, the recession, donation fatigue with the relentless global problems at present etc… But it is the saddest reflection on the human race when there are people out there (and many with power or influence) who almost take pride in not wanting to do anything, citing any excuse, lecturing about Pakistan in general and forgetting where the real problems are: the several millions of people who have had their lives decimated and ruined, surviving with no essentials and no dignity. It is depressing how this has not been the focus, in the face of a great amount of negativity.
So it is a reaffirmation of faith in humanity, to see people who use their talents in whatever they capacity they can, for the greater good. One such example is the collective of rappers from different backgrounds coming together on this single.
United We Stand is on sale now on I Tunes (Link here) and other download sites.
The charity nominated for this single is the Disasters Emergency Committee which has co-ordinated an umbrella response of UK charities to the Pakistan floods disaster - where all the proceeds of this single will go to.
And of course, you may not like the tune (and that’s cool!), but then if you haven’t already done so, please consider doing your bit - big or small, whether it is donating directly to the DEC or other worthwhile charities
It’s been a few weeks since we featured S.G who tends to be a regular now on BSomebodyTV and on our brother site Kishmeister.net.
S.G has teamed up with rapper Mikestar to produce a whole CD together, that will be titled; ‘The New Approach’.
The track ‘Heaven’ is just a taster of whats going to be on the CD, bringing through the Young, Zoe Yeboah to sing the hook and produced by S.G himself. You can see the development within S.G, from writing bars (relating to natural life and emotions), which initially grabbed us, to producing amazing beats, constructing tracks with care, and bringing through talent.
Maturity is the key for this artist, he just keeps bringing the fresh material!
Check out his remix to 9th Wonder’s – Fall In Love, re-titled ‘The Last Text Message;
