United We Stand Pakistan Charity Single

United We Stand Pakistan Charity Single

Sabotage organising this project along with a collective of fellow rappers (namely: Raxstar, Da Poe, Sam Khan, Rkz, Swami Baracus, Faze, Kaution & Arjun), came together to feature on the charity single to raise funds for the Pakistan Floods disaster.

This is a wicked tune in its own right. Beat is sick (produced by Zaheer), and all the rappers come through with their own expressive and thoughtful set of rhymes.

The purpose of this tune is more valued than ever, where the horrific tragedy in Pakistan which has affected several millions of people, has been greeted with a lukewarm response compared to many other disasters that have affected humanity in recent years, in my opinion. You can spend all the time debating points about the worth of donations, the resonance of the crisis with the western world, corruption, the recession, donation fatigue with the relentless global problems at present etc… But it is the saddest reflection on the human race when there are people out there (and many with power or influence) who almost take pride in not wanting to do anything, citing any excuse, lecturing about Pakistan in general and forgetting where the real problems are: the several millions of people who have had their lives decimated and ruined, surviving with no essentials and no dignity. It is depressing how this has not been the focus, in the face of a great amount of negativity.

So it is a reaffirmation of faith in humanity, to see people who use their talents in whatever they capacity they can, for the greater good. One such example is the collective of rappers from different backgrounds coming together on this single.

United We Stand is on sale now on I Tunes (Link here) and other download sites.

The charity nominated for this single is the Disasters Emergency Committee which has co-ordinated an umbrella response of UK charities to the Pakistan floods disaster - where all the proceeds of this single will go to.

And of course, you may not like the tune (and that’s cool!), but then if you haven’t already done so, please consider doing your bit - big or small, whether it is donating directly to the DEC or other worthwhile charities

Skepta is back with another single from his Upcoming album ‘Doin’ It Again’
The only way Skepta is going now is UP! after two top 30 singles and his ‘Hello Good Morning’ Grime remix with Diddy!
This it just the radio rip so the quality is a bit low, cant wait to hear the full and proper one. The video for this is getting shot on Wednesday, so i hope to see it soon.
Skepta goes in with the bars in this song. in my opinion probably the best Skepta song after ‘Rolex Sweep’.

Her debut album is on it’s way, and with the line up of producers she has, looks like it’s set to be an absolute hit!

Whilst at the Mela we managed to capture the live set on the BBC Introducing stage, performing 2 tracks that she has never performed live, so this is an exclusive; ‘Out of Control’ & ‘Lights Go Up’ along with 2 cover tracks which she nailed.

Check out the interview and the amazing show she put on, we’ll be following her progress and will definitely catch up with her soon.

Shizzio & Big Narstie live at London Mela [Sam Khan Diaries]

Last Sunday was London’s Asian Mela, where we stayed the majority of the day watching all the fresh young new talent on the BBC Introducing stage, hosted by BBC Asian Network’s Bobby Friction.

Along the line up of acts was UK Asian Grime MC Shizzio, who performed a massive set of tracks from his free CD ‘Perimeter Breach’.
To support him live on stage was also grime legend, Big Narstie who took the crowds love with a freestyle about eating a chicken korma, absolute banter!

Sam Khan and ourselves (Nik Squared), caught up with both of them and found out what Shizzio has been up to, and his thoughts on the UK Urban scene from an Asian MC’s point of view.

We’ll be bringing you the rest of the performing acts footage all this week, so keep it locked!

Lady B – Tabanacle Red Alert G Man Photoshoot

Lady B (our resident in house Photographer), has been out on the road again, hooking up this time with Kingston’s Tabanacle, Red Alert & G Man. The photo’s look sick, proper capturing the emotion, i particularly like the one of Red Alert to the top left of the screen, blending the colours from grey to colour. There’s so many more to show…we gonna hook up a page for Lady B & Graphic Hustle to Show case their work real soon!

Tabanacle has already been introduced to BSomebodyTV, and will be hearing a lot more of, as his Mixtape is real close to dropping. We had a sneak peak whilst at the shoot and it’s something fresh, and his flow is ridiculous! Track Listing is HARD still with collaborations from: Skandal, Sam Khan, Remus, Charlie Sloth and more. He is also the guy behind Street Deciplez Online, showcasing artists freestyles.

Rolling with Tabanacle is Britain’s Youngest known MC, Red Alert. He caused a stir a while back in the early days of SB.TV, and has been the star face in music video’s with Charlie Sloth featured on worldstarhiphop.com…this kid’s gonna be ‘ARD’ when he grows up.
